PGA Golf Tournament Coming To Palm Coast Florida!
It is hard to believe that the sleepy little area of Palm Coast, Florida, Flagler County in starting wake-up to things like, this beautiful Golf Resort that runs along the ocean and will be the site of a Champions Tour ... Champions Tour players to Test Conservatory Course For First Time on Monday, March 26Íž Florida Hospital Flagler & Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House Named Tournament Benefiting Charities
HAMMOCK BEACH, Fla., Sept. 19, 2006 – The Florida Hospital Flagler Pro-Am will be the first official event during the Champions Tour tournament week of the inaugural Ginn Championship at Hammock Beach in Palm Coast, Fla., it was announced today by tournament director John Subers.
The Ginn Championship at Hammock Beach is presented by Ginn Sports Entertainment LLC and sponsored by Ginn Resorts. It will be one of the richest events on the Champions Tour in 2007 at $2.5 million with the winner taking home $375,000. The event will be played March 26-April 1, one week before the Masters, and two weeks before the LPGA Ginn Resorts Open in Reunion, Fla. Ginn Resorts has a five year agreement with the Champions Tour.
Florida Hospital Flagler will title sponsor the Pro-Am on Monday featuring Champions Tour players paired with amateur teams of four. In addition to Florida Hospital’s sponsorship of the Pro-Am, they will also be the official hospital of the tournament and provide the tournament with on course first aid
stations for all the golf fans in attendance.
Subers also announced that two of the benefiting charities of the tournament will be Florida Hospital Flagler and Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House.
“We are very excited about Florida Hospital Flagler’s involvement in our championship,” said tournament director John Subers. “Florida Hospital is an integral and very active part of our community and their excitement and the interest that others have displayed for our inaugural event is wonderful. The local community support for our event will greatly assist our charitable partners.”
“Florida Hospital Flagler is proud to be sponsoring the Pro-Am of The Ginn Championship Tournament at Hammock Beach,” said Kent Ryan, Executive Director of the Florida Hospital Memorial Foundation. “This tournament is right in our backyard and provides Florida Hospital with a great opportunity to inform the community about the area’s only acute care hospice house, the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House which is set to open in the Spring of 2007.”
Florida Hospital Flagler will be selling daily tickets and weekly tournament tickets to the event as a fund raising opportunity. The tournament will be recruiting 400 to 500 volunteers to help stage this event. Volunteers will receive a shirt, hat and tickets to the event for $40. All proceeds from the volunteer package will be donated directly to the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House.
Located in Palm Coast, a few miles south of St. Augustine, Fla., the Conservatory at Hammock Beach features Tom Watson’s second golf course design in Florida. His first is at another Ginn community, Reunion Resort & Club of Orlando.
